Credit: 1 hour of California MCLE credit. Black Letter Discovery is a State Bar of California approved MCLE provider.

Description: This advanced course breaks down the December 2006 changes to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure relating to the discovery of electronically stored information (ESI). By reviewing and defining some key terms such as native file format, metadata, embedded editing and TIFF images, we demystify the concept of ESI in the context of large scale document reviews. We conclude with some tips for document reviewers and managers to deal effectively with ESI in large scale document reviews. This course requires some familiarity with the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and the document review process.
